The Best Kept Secret to a Great Wedding

Above is one of my favourite images of a couple that I have ever captured. It shows no colour, no show-stopping scenery, not even any gorgeous gowns. Despite all that, this photo remains one that I go back to every time I reflect on weddings past. Why?

Because it shows pure, raw, connection.

I am able to get images like this for my amazing wedding clients using one little secret, that I like to call:

"Falling in love with your wedding photographer".

OK, you're confused. Allow me to explain!

These days, there are hundreds of photographers at a couple's disposal to capture their wedding day. And while it's great that there's so many options out there for The Engaged, it can get very confusing trying to narrow down who you're going to trust to be by your side when you say "I Do".

My advice? Go with the photographer you fall in love with. Honestly!

Sure, you know that feeling, you're about to get married! The butterflies, the way they make you laugh, the way you trust them wholeheartedly. You need those feelings when you are picking a photographer. Your photographer will make or break your wedding, and the memories thereafter! Everyone has a budget, everyone has limitations when it comes to 'needs' and 'wants' for the wedding day. However, choosing someone to preserve your memories should take other things into consideration, such as experience, talent, style, and PERSONALITY. After all, the rings, the marriage, and the photos are all you're going to have left!

If you feel a connection with me, as your photographer, as your friend, and as your guide, your wedding will truly be breezy and fun! I am all about adventure, fun, silliness, mad love, and raw emotion. I will ALWAYS sacrifice my dignity to get the shot, and I will always cherish each and every couple.

Windy hair, sore muscles, and lots of smiles post wedding! I make a point to always take a photo with every couple .

I make it my mission to work with couples with whom I can really forge a connection. If the three of us all get along great, then I will be able to create emotional, beautiful images of the two of you. Being comfortable in front of the camera starts with being comfortable around your photographer.

Top Reasons Why You Need To Fall In Love With Your Photographer

(as told by a photographer...)

1. They are going to be with you the whole day. I always joke with my clients that I'm literally going to be their stalker. Think about it! We will be with you the ENTIRE day, on the sidelines, capturing it all. You need to like the person you're going to be closely spending 8-10 hours with. Would you go on the Signal Hill Hike with that co-worker you hate? I hope not! Love your adventure buddy. Happy adventure, happy wedding, happy life.

2. A photographer is more than a person who clicks a button and "takes a few snaps". Leading up to your wedding, your photog will spend countless hours emailing, planning, and meeting with you to secure all the details for the big day. Then, they day of, they have to strategically capture EVERYTHING. I will also lift your dress, fold pocket hankies, fix your veil, feed you snacks and water, be your friend, fix minor malfunctions with my sewing kit, and more.

3. You need to trust your photographer immensely! To do this, you need to love them as a person too- not just as part of your hired entourage! Your photographer is responsible for your cherished wedding images, which requires that we work together, and that your trust and lean on me before, during, and after the wedding day.

So, whether we are exploring Newfoundland at your engagement session...

or rocking out on the best day ever...!

...follow your heart. Choose your photographer based on connection, passion, and your gut feeling! You won't regret it.

THAT is the secret to the Greatest Wedding Ever.
